Today’s people in their fifties have thousands of photos of their kids - every single trip, every cute hairstyle, every funny face. But of their own childhood, they only have a handful of photos, and no videos at all.
Luckily, they have Rádio Vlna. Every day we bring them nostalgia-packed oldies hits, and now we’ve helped refresh their most precious memories, too. Listeners could upload their old photos to our website, where two AI systems brought them back to life: one trained to colorize the images, and the other, Runway Gen-3, to animate them.
From thousands of old photos, living memories were born. People generated up to 400 photos a day, even reviving entire wedding albums. Altogether, they created almost 1,600 hours of video that had only existed before as faded memories.
